Child care funds are also used to improve child care quality, and to increase the availability of early childhood development programs and before-school and after-school programs.
Child Care Management Services (CCMS)
Parents striving to become self-sufficient must have access to dependable quality care. The Child Care Associates is the Child Care Management Services (CCMS) Contractor for Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County. Workforce Solutions uses the CCMS program to purchase child care for eligible families in Tarrant County.
The CCMS gives parents flexibility in choosing care for children and encourages all interested child care providers to enter into a provider agreement with CCMS. All providers entering into an agreement must comply with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) Licensing requirements.
CCMS provides subsidized child care, an essential employment support service for families in Tarrant County. It helps parents who need assistance paying for child care become self-sufficient. Most CCMS clients are required to contribute to the cost of child care, with their fees being a percentage of the family's monthly gross income.
The Board's Child Care program provides child care services needed by low-income families in order to enter and remain in the workforce.
Parents who need child care to work or attend training or education, and some parents who are seeking work, are eligible. The boards have the flexibility to target funds for children of teen parents and for children with disabilities.
